The Wild Dead, by Carrie Vaughn, book review
Review of The WIld Dead by Carrie Vaughn. In this dystopian novel, a slow pace and some predictable plot twists weaken an otherwise strong novel. Terrific characterization, great world-building, and a strong ending make this an enjoyable read, though. 3 stars.
Dead Girls, by Alice Bolin, book review
Review of Alice Bolin's essay collection Dead Girls. A mixed bag, with some strong critiques of American obsession with dead females and our roles as consumer and creator of these narratives. 3 1/2 stars.

The Wife, by Alafair Burke, book review
An exceptional novel. The Wife by Alafair Burke hits all the right notes: strong, culturally relevant premise; an unreliable narrator; great plot twists. A novel that is as enjoyable to read as it is thought-provoking. 5 stars.
