If we’re honest, we all love a good conspiracy theory. It intrigues us . . . as long as we’re not the ones kept in the dark. Good thing there’s plenty of conspiracies and cover-ups in fiction. Here’s a few to try. Two are brand new releases!

My Sister, the Serial Killer, by Oyinkan Braithwaite.

Literary mystery. One sister kills, the other cleans up. Literally. Good thing Korede knows how to scrub away bloodstains. Her younger sister needs her to clean up multiple crime scenes, not to mention dispose of the bodies of former boyfriends. And lie. A lot. (My review here.)

The Ancient Nine, by Ian Smith

Mystery. A mysterious group of former Delphic club members hide a centuries-old secret, and young Spenser, a new Delphic member, hunts for answers. (My review here.)

Keep Her Safe, by K. A. Tucker

Romantic suspense. A cop dies and is labelled corrupt. Decades later, his grown daughter and his late partner’s son join forces to discover what happened when Abe died. The truth might exonerate his legacy, but destroy his late partner’s. (My review here.)

Gnosis, by Rick Hall

Psychic urban fantasy, coming in early May 2019! I’ve never read any urban fantasy before, but there was such a strong mystery element and an intriguing premise that I really enjoyed this book. Thanks to Rick Hall for letting me read his novel.

Samantha’s dad’s been murdered and she’s on the run from both his killers and the government. Then her headaches intensify. When she awakens in the hospital, she’s not alone anymore. A sentient virus lives in her head now. The government infected her years ago, but she doesn’t know why.

Oh, and that virus? He’s a telepath, a spirited, if naïve, ten-year-old boy named Alexander. And the government wants him back.

Charlie-316, by Colin Conway and Frank Zafiro

Cop thriller, coming soon. NetGalley has graciously provided an ARC for me to read and review. This one involves a police shooting. Tyler is a black officer in a predominately white police force. When he’s involved in an ambush, he’s initially hailed a hero. Then they learn the dead man was shot in the back. And the gun he had? Well, that’s disappeared. Tyler knows there was a second shooter. But can he find him and clear his own name?

I haven’t had a chance to read this one yet. I will soon! But it sounds like a ripped-from-the-headlines type of story, doesn’t it? Preorder the book on Amazon.
